Quiet is the night before death reveals itself. The Wandering Mule, or just Mule, is an ancient being of death and destruction. Its origins are lost to time, all that remains is a ravenous husk that seeks the life essence of pure souls. It met the False Prophet while it was scavenging a battlefield, completely unaware that the pesky Heavens were after its wicked hide. How amusing, it thought, that they would send another snake to cull it; Mule knew exactly that the Prophet was the moment it lay eyes upon him. A fool torn between cowardice and bravery, covetous of something meaningless. Still, it felt so inclined to spare the charlatan, if only because his tainted soul would be an assault on its taste buds.
