Equipment
Veilhorns can equip items, such as armor, weapons and accessories. These may give stats or be purely decorative, and can be toggled on and off on their profile design image. If you hide an equipment piece in the "equipment" tab of your character then the item will be fully hidden from everyone and can not be toggled on by viewers.
Including your character's equipment in art is completely optional, you are not required to draw all their armor even if they have it equipped on their profile, it's entirely up to you!
You can manage your character's equipment on the "equipment" tab on their profile.
Note that equipment belongs to the user, not the character, so if you transfer a character or list it on the market, any equipped items will automatically be unequipped and go back to your inventory. This is to allow everyone the freedom to decide if you want the character who "earned" each item to use it or if you'd rather use it on a different character of yours.
In the future a more advanced interface will be added for custom equipment skins where you can manage all your equipment skins and upload skins for other items than the ones you own, but at the moment you can only manage skins for items that you own.
Equipment types and visual hierarchy
The following item types are currently available:
- Head: helmets, bridles, hats, or other items worn on the head
- Body: armor, saddles, blankets, clothing, other other items worn on the body
- Legs: leg wraps, leg armor, shoes, or other items worn on the legs
- Weapon: swords, staves, bows, or any other weapon type. Can be wielded physically or through magical means (e.g. floating mid-air through telekinesis, can have a glowy aura in your character's elemental alignment color)
- Accessories: Purely decorative, your character can equip up to 3 accessories.
Visual hierarchy
On your character's design image the items will be layered in the following order:
- Background image
- Character design
- Leg equipment
- Body equipment
- Head equipment
- Accessories
- Weapon
Creating your own skins for equipment
You can upload your own item skins to replace the default appearance. This is highly recommended on items that might not fit your character's design due to a unique horn shape or wings/tails clipping into the armor. You can either download the item's base appearance from the editing tab or draw your own. You can also use other users item skins if they have uploaded them with the permission for anyone to use it.
Important info
Your equipment skin must be drawn on a fully transparent background, the character may not be visible. It is recommended to use the Design template or your character's design image as a background for your item to ensure it fits properly, and then hide that layer before saving the image.
The equipment skin must be uploaded on a 2100x1200 canvas as shown on the 2nd image example below, to ensure it layers properly onto your character's design image.
Each item should be its own image with a transparent background, you may not combine multiple items into a single image.

Using the design template as a background while drawing the plated legwraps and flower crown equipment skins.

This is what the plated legwraps final appearnce looks like with no character or other equipment visible.
