Egg Surprise
It twas a beautiful day in a meadow, the Owlcats sleeping in their nests in the trees, a gentle breeze dancing through thy grass blades with a casual stream of warmth spreading through the meadow. The sun wasn't beating down on the group that were standing in a meadow, a full family. And a straggler it seems.
A young filly, honey with quill and golden hooves and a horn with golden eyes, was walking up to a lone nest, dug softly into the ground, blades of grass swooping around the nest in a coddle, and the twigs itself formed a warm-curl around the three eggs within the nest. It was left unattended.
The young filly dipped her neck, her puppy lips lifting as her teeth grabbed the egg gently, lowering her lips to hold the egg without the pressure to hurt it; or break it. The filly is intensely careful to ensure that she doesn't break it.
As the young filly is picking up the egg carefully, slowly, then raising her head high. An Owlcat comes out for an egg surprise! By jumping and clinging onto the filly's neck, spooking the young mare as she rears up before running.
The young filly ran, ran, and ran so fast the Owlcat is having a hard time clinging onto the neck to get her egg back from the filly. The Owlcat did a yowl in surprise at the rear and the sudden gallop, but it didn't deter her from getting her egg back.
Gouras, Haddox's father, was laughing very hard in the background that he casted a spell on himself to appear as a cartoony drawing; but he did not stop laughing at his daughter's attempted dare to get the egg stealthily and that failed.
Phomoria watched on in a deadpan look, no thought apparent in her head, her golden coat shimmering underneath the sun's heated rays but she did not sweat yet. She was standing absolutely still for that. Though her deadpan shattered as she expressed concern when Haddox run off in a spook.
Balamorus giggled when no one was looking at him, chuckling at every chance to go along with his family's mixed reactions, even though he tried to remain stiff and guarded in not letting his emotions show.
Espresso just watched her niece run around and be a mess from a single Owlcat attacking her, she sighed but showed a smirk of amusement on her puppy lips. Amusement at the situation that unfolded before her and her family daring Haddox to do the ritual of stealing an Owlcat egg--while enjoying the daylight and meadow itself.
Verheim just laughed, elbowed occasionally by Espresso, but otherwise laughed at his niece. And called her a wimp for not fighting the Owlcat off for the egg. "GO FOR THE WINGS! YOU LITTLE MAGGOT!" He shouted once when Haddox ran very closely to her family.
Espresso sighed when watching Haddox still running around, eventually letting go of the egg entirely, the Owlcat caught it and flew back to her nest to warm it back up. "Worst idea ever, husband." Espresso nipped at Verheim, huffing at him as well, before storming off, with a black, eclipsed winged Faye serpent following behind her--or at least trying to do so, he is blind; the white eyes don't lie.
"I can't believe this even started as a tradition; by Verheim's family no less, shameful. Isn't it?" Espresso stopped, turned around and nuzzled the black, eclipsed, serpent Veilhorn's neck in comfort for herself and him. Guiding him over to a more reclusive spot where the shade offered protection from the sun.
Verheim watched as his wife left with that Veilhorn trailing behind her, he glared before returning his attention to his niece running amok still. He shook his mane, glancing at one of his four children to deal with Haddox, even if there is no more Owlcat anymore; just a young filly still feeling the adrenaline rush of nerves.
"I do hope Haddox calms down eventually, she's breaking up the flowers we sprouted." Balamorus spoke, Phomoria looked up at him in surprise but quickly looked back at her cousin, her cousin Haddox. A filly who looks exactly like her mother but with her father's quill on the coat of hers.
"If it was that easy, it wasn't for some of us." Phomoria blinked her eyes, her lashes batting over her eyes to re-water them since she hadn't blinked in a few seconds, Balamorus looked at his younger sister; fixing her a glare she froze up on, trembling underneath his gaze, not even Verheim's stare was as bad as his. Maybe even worse since he's a gladiator and Phomoria is just the first and only sister of three males.
"Only you were afraid of getting a cat up your mane, which didn't make sense, but you were only a foal being introduced too early to wild felines with wings." Balamorus countered, leaning over his sister with offense, then he suddenly nudged her out of her frozen state. Intentionally making her scoot a few inches away from her older brother, but she smiled as both of them went back to watching Akuji fix Haddox on how to fight a wild animal with a gaze and a certain flare for challenge. The aura of dominance always made a threat back off, especially coming from Verheim and his sons getting those ideals of his. But not Phomoria; a weaker Espresso but golden.

The king, his wife, Loki being mentioned, Gouras, Balamorus, Phomoria, Haddox, and Akuji--the WHOLE royal family I could fit that would make sense, the rest I need to do separately.
But I wanted to make a big family outing, with Loki, of course, I did try to give him a role--it's not a big role, but it's something to start 'em off on before I start to get serious as it goes.
