Kias and Undómiel use Mimi’s magic to track the dragon who had absconded with their decorations. However among the strings of glass beads and shiny ornaments the dragoness had taken a special runestone that had been idolized by the townsfolk, said to have been carved by the founder of the village, a powerful protection and prosperity charm that kept their land green and fruitful. So in order to snatch the bag from the dragon Kias creates a distraction. Their plan to have Kias freeze the dragons feet and MiMi to snatch the burlap sack with a whip vine of her nature magic went off without a hitch. However the dragoness was greatly displeased by this and her fiery nature took over and began to scorch the earth. Undómiel springs into action, spilling the bag at her feet, having already taken and hidden the runestone in her hair. Kias lunges to attack but MiMi stops him and lowers her head to the dragon who was now staring eyes blazing and nostrils flaring. The white mare apologizes and backs away slowly the dragon roars, rustling everything around them. Mimi doesn’t turn until Kias is at her back and when they run the dragon doesn’t chase but takes the baubles that were left, not wanting the confrontation. Kias and Mimi return the town artifact and celebrate the new year for days.
