Alcyone was for many centuries regarded as the most noble and highborn due to their wings and sky-based domains placing them beyond the reach of all wingless creatures. For this reason they have also been seen as proud, and in some cases are even resented.

Their tails can have the shape of any bird's - square, rounded, forked, pointed, and so on. Some are more suited for flight while others are long, flowing and decorative.

The feathers are restricted to the tail unless the Plumage mutation is also present - which allows feathers anywhere on the coat and can replace the mane with a striking feather crest. Similarly Alcyone can only have wings if they have the Seraph mutation. Over the years, more and more Alcyone foals have been born without wings as different bloodlines mix.

For coat colors where the mane and tail are differently colored than the basecoat, you can decide how much of the Alcyone tail counts as "tail" and how much counts as "body", meaning on for example a bay, the Alcyone could have fully brown tail feathers, fully black, or partially brown and black.
