Veilhorn Steed

Hoof shapes

There's no known genes linked to the shape of the hooves on Veilhorns, which means you can chose the type you prefer for each character regardless of their genotype or bloodline.

Currently on the design templates, dewclaws/ergots are only shown for the cloven hoof type, however this is optional and can be added or removed for all of the hoof types. Claws from the Polydactyly trait can not be freely added unless your character specifically has that trait.

Hoof colours

There are a multitude of different genes and factors that can affect the colour of your veilhorn's hooves.

When designing your veilhorn you have two options:

  • Do you want your veilhorn's hooves to be the colour of their elemental alignment?
  • Or do you want the hooves to be naturally coloured, determined by their genes?

Some traits and mutations affect hoof appearances.

The hooves can be separately coloured from the horns, for example you can have elemental-coloured horns and naturally coloured hooves, and other way round. Each hoof can also be coloured separately, for example you can have one natural hoof and three elemental-coloured hooves.

Natural eye colours

These hoof colours can be found on natural Coat colours. Check each coat colour to see which hoof colour it should have.

White patterns will always cause natural hooves to be lighter or cream-coloured.
