Appearance

Tabby looks just like the feline pattern it is named after, and can appear both striped and like the classic tabby pattern.

Tabby markings should always be darker than the coat (anywhere from slightly darker to complete black), and can be either marbled or solid. Light accents can optionally outline the tabby, lighten the inside of marbled tabby, and/or lighten the underside/belly of the horse.

Optionally affects mane and tail where it touches.

Always goes below white patterns.

Minimum requirement:

  • At least one tabby stripe somewhere on the body.

Minimum requirements can be reduced or completely removed by the occlusion trait.

Allowed:

  • Can optionally affect mane and tail where it touches.
  • Can have some spots as long as the majority of the pattern is striped or tabby-striped.

Not allowed:

  • Can not be only spots. Should not look like pard spots or pard rosettes.

Eye colour:

Doesn't affect eye colour.

Skin colour:

Can optionally affect skin where it touches. Dark patterns should darken skin while light patterns should lighten skin.

Horn/hoof colour:

Can optionally affect horns/hooves where it touches. Dark patterns should darken them while light patterns should lighten them.
